Shingles Vaccine Study with investigational COVID booster available for qualified participants

Have you received your shingles vaccine? JBR Clinical Research is conducting a clinical research study of a shingles vaccine with an investigational COVID booster.

Why participate in this clinical research study?

Clinical research studies are what allow all medications to come to market, including drugs that treat pain, infections, and various medical conditions. Without clinical studies, no new medications would be made available for use, and they are only possible with the help of participants. Compensation for participation in the study varies by study design, time involved, and whether you complete all visits and procedures. Every research study at JBR Clinical Research is approved and monitored by an Institutional Review Board (IRB) to make sure the risks are as low as possible and are worth any potential benefits to the volunteer.

What to expect:

Study involvement may last up to 6 months. There will be a screening, vaccination visit, 5 follow up visits and 2 follow up calls. Qualified participants may receive study related care at no cost, compensation for time and travel associated with the study

FAQs

What is Shingles?
A reactivation of the chickenpox virus in the body, causing a painful rash.
Anyone who’s had chickenpox may develop shingles. It isn’t known what reactivates the virus.
Shingles causes a painful rash that may appear as a stripe of blisters on the trunk of the body. Pain can persist even after the rash is gone (this is called postherpetic neuralgia).
Treatments include pain relief and antiviral medications such as acyclovir or valacyclovir. A chickenpox vaccine in childhood or a shingles vaccine as an adult can minimize the risk of developing shingles.
