Male-Pattern Baldness Study available for qualified participants

Why participate in a clinical research study?

Clinical research studies are what allow all medications to come to market, including drugs that treat pain, infections, and various medical conditions. Without clinical studies, no new medications would be made available for use and they are only possible with the help of participants. Compensation for participation in the study varies by study design, time involved, and whether you complete all visits and procedures. Every research study at JBR Clinical Research is approved and monitored by an Institutional Review Board (IRB) to make sure the risks are as low as possible and are worth any potential benefits to the volunteer.

What to expect:

Subjects that qualify for the study will be evaluating an investigational medication for people with male-pattern baldness.

This study involves a screening visit and an inpatient stay at our facility to evaluate this medication. The stay will consist of 17 days and 16 nights. Participants will receive study medication, study related care, meals, and earn up to $4,400 for time and travel.

What is male-pattern baldness (Androgenetic Alopecia)?
Male-pattern baldness is permanent hair loss from the scalp, causing baldness. With male pattern baldness, hair loss typically occurs on the top and front of the head.

What causes male-pattern baldness?
It’s caused by genes you get from your parents. Scientists think the gene may affect how sensitive your hair follicles are to a hormone called DHT, which makes them shrink. As they get smaller, the hair that grows back tends to be finer, thinner, and shorter.

Clinical Trial Compensation
As medical research continues to bring new medication and treatments that help make all our lives better, healthy volunteers can experience the satisfaction of participating and assisting in the development these drugs. JBR Clinical Research compensates you for your time, travel and participation in the study. Compensation is based on the length of the study, the number of overnight stays in our clinic, and the number of outpatient visits you attend.
