Acne Vaccine

CenExel Salt Lake City is looking for volunteers ages 18-45 with moderate to severe acne for an acne vaccine study.

Why participate in a clinical research study?

Clinical studies are the fastest and safest way to find the effectiveness of medications that work and are only possible with the

help of participants like you. Compensation varies by study, time involved, and whether you complete all visits and procedures in the study. Every volunteer study at CenExel Salt Lake City is approved and monitored by an Institutional Review Board (IRB) to make sure the risks are as low as possible and are worth any potential benefits to the volunteer.

What to expect.

We are conducting a clinical research study of an investigational acne vaccine for individuals that suffer from moderate to severe acne. This study requires a screening visit, 2 dosing visits, and up to 17 follow-up visits. This study may last up to 12 months of participation.

Participants receive no cost investigational acne vaccine, study related care, and will be compensation up to $4,600 for time and travel associated with the study

Why does JBR need Healthy Volunteers?

Volunteers are an integral part of the research process. People with a particular disease as well as healthy people both can play a role in contributing to medical advances. Medical researchers can be provided valuable information when comparing healthy volunteers with those who have specific illnesses.

Medical research continues to bring new medication and treatments to help make all our lives better. The FDA requires clinical research, trials, or medical studies, to test the safety and efficacy of these new drugs.

The main objective during a clinical trial on healthy volunteers is safety. Medical researchers need to determine how a certain drug is metabolized by the body. Drugs can be administered by a variety of routes depending on the intended site of action, drug metabolism, chemical properties of the medication and ease of use.

Without volunteers, clinical studies simply would not be possible.

What is Acne?

Acne is a common skin condition caused by clogged hair follicles, typically manifesting as pimples or zits. These bumps occur when oil and dead skin cells accumulate in the pores, leading to inflammation and infection. Acne can appear on the face, chest, back, and shoulders. It can range from mild to severe

Symptoms of moderate to severe acne

Moderate to severe acne is characterized by numerous inflammatory lesions like papules and pustules, along with the potential for nodules and cysts. These lesions can appear on the face, chest, back, and shoulders, and may also cause scarring and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
