David Poling

Thomas M. Shiovitz, M.D.

Dr. Shiovitz has over 25 years of clinical research experience, including 7 years as Medical Director of California Clinical Trials in Beverly Hills and International Clinical Trials in London. He has been a Principal Investigator on scores of successful CNS clinical trials and an investigator on over 300 studies in indications such as Alzheimer’s Disease, Schizophrenia, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Social Phobia, Panic Disorder, Major Depression, Insomnia and Migraine. Dr. Shiovitz brings expertise in study design and a wealth of experience in clinical trial execution. He is Board Certified in Psychiatry (1989) and in Geriatric Psychiatry (1996, 2006) and an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at UCLA. He is on the attending staff of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Sherman Oaks Hospital.

Maria I. Seliverstov, M.D.

Dr. Seliverstov is Board Certified in Psychiatry (2003) and Geriatric Psychiatry (2006). She has been a sub-investigator on multiple clinical trials in indications including Alzheimer’s Disease, Mild Cognitive Impairment, Insomnia, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Migraine and Major Depression since completion of her Fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry from UCLA in 2002. In addition, Dr. Seliverstov has experience performing numerous psychiatric rating scales.

Marlene E. Zarrow, M.Ed., CCRC

Ms. Zarrow obtained a master’s degree in Counseling and Consulting Psychology from Harvard University. She has been certified in over 20 psychometric and clinical assessments for psychiatric and geropsychiatric indications including smoking cessation counseling. With experience coordinating studies in Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Primary Insomnia, Major Depressive Disorder and Alzheimer’s Disease, Marlene has coordinated top enrolling studies nationwide. She is also trained in ICH/GCPs and is certified in IATA (Transport of Dangerous Goods). Additionally, Marlene is responsible for staff recruitment as well as training and mentoring Junior staff members.

Tarannum Shaikh, CRC

Ms. Shaikh is responsible for coordinating all aspects of clinical trials, with over five years of experience in clinical research in all phases of inpatient and outpatient clinical trials. In addition to working with Healthy Volunteers, Tara has experience submitting and maintaining regulatory documents. She is also trained in ICH/GCPs and is certified in IATA (Transport of Dangerous Goods) and phlebotomy.

Stephanie Castillo, CRC

Ms. Castillo has over five years experience working in clinical research. She is responsible for obtaining vital signs. ECGs, phlebotomy, lab sample processing and other study procedures. She is certified in ICH GCP, phlebotomy and IATA.

Stacey Rickers, B.A., CRC

Ms. Rickers facilitates, directs and coordinates daily clinical research projects. She maintains regulatory documentation and reports to the Institutional Review Board, when applicable. She also performs a wide range of psychometric and clinical assessments for psychiatric and geropsychiatric indications. Ms. Rickers has also received her certification in IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations and Phlebotomy. Most recently, California Neuroscience Research was featured as one of the top enrolling research sites within the United States and Europe for one of her studies.

Faye Golden B.A., CRC

Ms. Golden assists with many aspects of clinical research study coordination including recruiting subjects, obtaining vital signs, performing ECGs, processing lab samples, documentation, and other study procedures. She is a Certified Nursing Assistant and is also certified in BLS/CPR, ICH/GCP, and IATA.

Jessica Vuong B.S., CRC

Ms. Vuong has over three years experience working in clinical research. She is responsible for obtaining vital signs, ECGs, phlebotomy, lab sample processing, and other study procedures. She is certified in BLS/CPR, ICH/GCP, IATA, and phlebotomy.
