A new study at Harvard University shows that teens who drink milk and carry on the habit into adulthood may cut their risks of developing diabetes by as much as 43%. The downside being that milk drinkers weigh an average of 4 lbs more than their non-dairy drinkers.

Harvard also released information that stated that by drinking water instead of soda, juice and other sweetened beverages can help with weight loss, and reducing the risk of type 2 diabetes by 7%.

In general when being advised about diabetes prevention foods are what are generally addressed, but these studies bring to light that everything we take in should be scrutinized. Aside from the foods and drinks making sure to break the habit of a sedentary life style, and be active is a fundamental key to diabetes prevention.
